The trouser and shoe dilemma

October 24, 2011

How many times do you find yourself frantically rummaging through your messy pile of clothes every morning because you refuse to brave the day with bare legs. Instead, you find yourself opting for the classic trouser, shirt option you know will never do wrong. Satisfied with your great choice, you're standing in front of your door with the dilemma of which pair of shoes to wear with your trousers.

Great. Looks like you'll be late again trying to figure out what shoe to pair your outfit with. I know more than anyone how frustrating and difficult it is to find the perfect shoe with the perfect style pant. That's why we've dedicated a whole post in helping you style yourself better every morning you decide against baring your legs in the middle of autumn or spring and instead want to wear your favourite pair of pants.

Amy, assistant designer to Beau Coops models our latest AW12 press showroom pieces (Not to tease - but we've got some really amazing pieces from our showroom this season!)

Twenty8Twelve AW12 hitting stores now!

October 18, 2011

Best part of it all - Their garments are made in England!

Twenty8Twelve AW12 is now being delivered into stores around Australia and New Zealand. The Autumn/Winter collection references French new wave cinema of the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. The beatnick look plays a strong part in inspiring the tailoring pieces. The monochromatic and cinematic tones are reflected in the colour palette. Girls dressed up as boys is a key look but subtle yet sexy underpieces in lace help to twist the look.

The collection also has a strong focus on tradition. References to military uniform, traditional weaves, details in menswear and classic tailoring are all apparent. This contrasts with the feminine prints, fabrications, tones and silhouettes. The heart print is key and is worn in with the sheepskin lined suede and knits.

Amongst the mix of masculine tailoring and soft feminine prints with touches of lace there is a feeling of the Rockabily era. Metal tipped collars and horse head buckle beld allude to cowboys and billies. Cotton lace mixed with wool gives a dressy feel to this weardrobe and contrasts with the smudge printed sandwashed silk habutai. Teddy style jackets and formal shirtings all contrast with a softer more girly debutante style.
