Just Cavalli Summer 2009 , Back To Nature
"Fashion should make you dream
and imagine the impossible.
Just Cavalli makes these dreams real
and brings your desires to life."
Roberto Cavalli
Inspiration: Like a vintage postcard sent from a tropical island vacation in the 1920s, the Just Cavalli
Spring/Summer 2009 collection tells a story of a trip that started in the colonial day and has yet to
be finished.
Stage: The stage consists of oversized semi circular panels covered with black and white vintage
photos of nature and underwater themes
Soundtrack: Steve Mackey’s vocal and elegant sounds, layered on top of the calming and natural
sound of ocean waves, set the soundtrack for the show.
Forms: The silhouette is inspired by a blend of shapes from the 20's and the 80's. Patchwork
workmanship juxtaposed in unexpected ways, inspired by innovative chromatic effects.
Combinations of "animalier" prints, "dentelle" lace, all in nude or black embroidered with paillettes,
swarovksi crystals, silk knits and details in antiqued metal.
Chiffon comes in many variations – seersucker, techno, or super light. Cotton prevails, also in jersey.
Unique pieces are created out of dyed raffia and handworked crochet.
Select pieces in glove leather and soft suede for the smaller pieces. An almost complete absence of
masculine cuts, like pants or jackets, a real expression of feminine freedom for a woman that
travels and plays with bold jewelry to transform her relaxed day looks into evening wear.
The waist is soft and fluid on the hips. Hints of seduction through lingerie details and transparencies.
Colors. Lilac, gray, pale blue, rose pink with splashes of yellow, green, and orange. Prints: Animal
prints, macro prints of Eva and Roberto's faces
Accessories: Maxi bags in see-thru canvas or mini doctors bags in the main colors of the collection.
Wedge and super high heels created in soft colored patchwork suede create an elongated silhouette.
